<description>Well, Doc, I agree with the proposal and progress. Stewardship does, in my view, compel maximizing internal resources as well as just asking for more. LII has established "giving opportunities" for the legal profession via placements on lists etc within the sight's listings however i am a believer that it is not the law profession that is in the worst need of LII but the uneducated population. consider the philanthropist (even those like me of modest resources) as prospects for some form of recognition someplace.

i believe history teaches us that knowledge when restricted to a few creates a closed environment often without external challenge and often with unwelcome outcomes. LII opens the door to legal knowledge just as the Carnegie libraries opened the door to knowledge for many of the poorest and beginning with that free repository of knowledge created opportunity for themselves and others.

Not all practitioners of the law are good at it. for that minority there needs to be a place for the uneducated to verify and research for themselves. Like you I too subscribe to the "Pray to God - but row like hell" school. so, while i trust those professionals i maintain it is also invaluable to be able to do a bit or rowing on my own just to be sure.

Our firm is a modest one and we have been happy to support this noble project. we will continue to do so and will make an effort to make a special contribution should you establish a foundation for the perpetuation of LII.
