{"id":1081,"date":"2012-10-22T11:27:46","date_gmt":"2012-10-22T15:27:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/?p=1081"},"modified":"2012-10-22T13:44:20","modified_gmt":"2012-10-22T17:44:20","slug":"special-collections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/2012\/10\/22\/special-collections\/","title":{"rendered":"Our special collections and a future Rare Book Room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After last week&#8217;s blog posting about the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/2012\/10\/17\/farewell-to-the-rare-book-room\/\">Farewell Reception<\/a> in the Rare Book Room, we received several inquiries about the future of our rare books and other special collections.\u00a0 We have good news:\u00a0 These collections will still be easily accessible.\u00a0 Certain materials will stay here at the law school in a secure, climate-controlled room.\u00a0 Most of the collection will be temporarily housed near the Cornell apple orchard in the <a href=\"http:\/\/annex.library.cornell.edu\/\">Cornell University Library Annex<\/a>, which provides 24-hour turnaround access to materials.\u00a0 The Annex is well equipped for storing material of this kind; in fact, it already houses some of Cornell University Library&#8217;s Rare and Manuscript collections.\u00a0 Users of our rare books and other special collections will continue to request these materials from and use them in the Law Library.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">And we have more good news &#8212;
