{"id":1923,"date":"2014-03-31T10:11:20","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T14:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/?p=1923"},"modified":"2014-03-31T10:11:20","modified_gmt":"2014-03-31T14:11:20","slug":"position-announcement-access-and-research-services-librarian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/2014\/03\/31\/position-announcement-access-and-research-services-librarian\/","title":{"rendered":"Position Announcement: Access and Research Services Librarian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Access Services, the <a href=\"https:\/\/cornellu.taleo.net\/careersection\/10164\/jobdetail.ftl?job=23468\">Access and Research Services Librarian<\/a> is responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing the daily operations of the Access Services Department, including circulation, reserves, document delivery, and stacks;<\/li>\n<li>Performing research and reference services;<\/li>\n<li>Serving as a liaison to Law School faculty;<\/li>\n<li>Depending upon qualifications, teaching legal research courses as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>M.L.I.S. or equivalent graduate degree from ALA accredited institution; two years\u2019 experience in an academic or law library access services department or related experience; strong service orientation; strong organization skills and attention to detail; excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse individuals at all levels of a complex organization; ability to work independently and function in a collegial, teamwork-oriented environment which emphasizes excellent customer service and delivery of exemplary library reference and research services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong> J.D. from ABA accredited institution; management or supervisory experience; knowledge of legal materials and research strategies; teaching experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> For a detailed description and to apply for this position go to: <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.hr.cornell.edu\/\">http:\/\/careers.hr.cornell.edu\/<\/a>, search under the job category of Librarians, select job posting 23468 and follow the instructions for online submission.
