{"id":62,"date":"2010-04-01T15:00:46","date_gmt":"2010-04-01T20:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/2010\/04\/01\/peeps-show-iv\/"},"modified":"2010-04-10T13:55:43","modified_gmt":"2010-04-10T18:55:43","slug":"peeps-show-iv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/2010\/04\/01\/peeps-show-iv\/","title":{"rendered":"Peeps Show IV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/files\/2010\/04\/peeps-show.jpg\" title=\"Eep!\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.law.cornell.edu\/library\/files\/2010\/04\/peeps-show.jpg\" alt=\"Eep!\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>In celebration of April Fool&#8217;s Day today we are featuring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/gallery\/2010\/03\/29\/GA2010032903934.html#\" title=\"Washington Post Peeps Show IV\">Peeps Show IV<\/a>, this year&#8217;s installment of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/\" title=\"Washington Post\">Washington Post<\/a>&#8216;s annual diorama contest featuring that lovable, pastel-hued, sugary character&#8212;the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marshmallowpeeps.com\/\" title=\"Marshmallowpeeps.com\">Peep<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite this year is &#8220;Balloon Peep (based on the balloon boy)&#8221;, but I think &#8220;Little Bo Peep&#8221; is pretty great too. What&#8217;s your favorite? Make sure to vote for it in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/gallery\/2010\/03\/29\/GA2010032903934.html\" title=\"Peep's Choice  Awards\">Peeple&#8217;s  Choice Awards<\/a> (click on the link at the top of the page).<\/p>\n<p>Check out the Washington Post&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-srv\/artsandliving\/magazine\/peeps2010\/index.html\" title=\"Peeps Show Complete Coverage\">behind-the-scenes coverage<\/a> or the accompanying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/story\/2010\/03\/29\/ST2010032904380.html?sid=ST2010032904380\" title=\"Peeps show IV story\">news story<\/a>. There&#8217;s even an <a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/app\/the-washington-post-peeps\/id364086903?mt=8\" title=\"Peeps Show iPhone app\">iPhone app<\/a>, but sadly I can&#8217;t bring myself to pay 99 cents for it.<\/p>\n<p>One of my dearest wishes is to submit a diorama that will earn inclusion in the Peeps Show, but competition gets tougher every year (over 1,100 entries!). Some of the dioramas look downright professional, although I usually prefer the homemade look myself. Most of the best dioramas are created by teams. Maybe next year some intrepid 2L&#8217;s will band together to create a diorama based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.courts.state.ny.us\/history\/cases\/palsgraf_lirr.htm\" title=\"Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad Co.\"><em>Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad Co<\/em><\/a>.
