Legal citation styles are complex and chaotic, but automating them is essential if the benefits of standardization and Linked Data initiatives are to be brought to the user’s desktop. This session will present a prototype of the Zotero research platform, adapted for use with legal resources across multiple jurisdictions, with support for multiple citation styles. Discussion will focus on the challenges involved in achieving a degree of uniformity in the processing of metadata, and on the possibilities for third-party development of research support tools going forward.
